Job Details

Intelligence Directorate works collaboratively with NCA Investigations Directorate and partners to deliver a unified crime fighting response. 

The main responsibility of this role is to manage a team of G5 Intelligence Officers engaged in the research, analysis and development of online threats including the development of fast-time intelligence packages used by operational teams. 

Other responsibilities will include: 
• Managing and developing work streams for the team, identifying new threats and providing a suitable response to those threats. 
• Developing partnerships for the team and wider unit 
• Managing the day-to-day liaison, tasking and development of an ongoing NCA High Profile Vulnerability project 
• Managing the research and development of fast-time intelligence packages used by operational teams 

The ideal post holder will possess the following experience/knowledge: 

• Thorough understanding of the use of intelligence by law enforcement/government; 
• Thorough knowledge of intelligence analysis methods and techniques; 
• Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. CPIA, ECHR) and its impact on the role and Agency/law enforcement/government activity; 
• Experience of researching, gathering and interpreting information from a wide variety of sources; 
• An understanding of information management and data integrity issues; 
• Experience of identifying, assessing and managing risk within a law enforcement/national security environment 
• Level 3 open source knowledge 
• Experience of managing a team 
• IPP or equivalent experience 

Qualifications

The following qualifications/skills are essential to the role and proof will be required at interview: 
• Knowledge and experience of non-attributable open source intelligence collection (formerly Level 3 OSINT) 
• IPP accreditation or equivalent experience
