About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit Project Planner to create and maintain plans and schedules for Babcock Marine Training (BMTL) (Clyde) projects to time, cost and quality targets, balancing capacity and capability against demand and making effective use of available resources to deliver project objectives.
Your main tasks will include:
  • Establish relationships with Key Stakeholders
  • Produce and maintain project plans in line with the agreed Babcock Marine Training (BMTL) (Clyde) planning methodology
  • Work with Training Liaison to develop annual training plans and schedules, updating them as and when required through the use of the Training Plan Amendment process
  • Produce a schedule of work that best utilises resources in line with budgetary and customer requirements
  • Establish project baselines and monitor all aspects of the projects progress including adherence to schedule, analyse and report any variances and suggesting mitigating actions
  • Forward loading of project plans to give an accurate look ahead of planned resource usage
  • Produce reports in support of the internal and external Governance requirements
  • Carry out periodic planning workshops, ensuring that the planning processes are understood and adhered to.
  • Accountable to ACTS Project Manager and deputise when required in their absence
What do I need to do the role?
You'll need proven planning/scheduling experience within a highly regulated industry such as Marine, Land, Nuclear and Air
Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
Essential:
  • Microsoft Project Professional application
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft applications especially (Excel, Word)
Desirable
  • Microsoft Project Server
  • HNC in Project Management/Project Management Programmes/Engineering discipline or relevant practical planning/scheduling experience
  • Association of Project Managers (APM) Introductory certification
What else do I need to know?
  • You should hold or have the ability to obtain SC security clearance.
