MSS Safety and Environmental Manager

Our client, the Ministry of Defence (through the Aurora Engineering Partnership), are seeking a MSS Safety and Environmental Manager to join their team. The role is based in MoD Abbey Wood, Bristol. The role requires SC clearance.

Technical Discipline: Electrical Power & Distribution|Control and Instrumentation Systems

Requirements are scheduled to run until December 2019. This is a competitive tender and there is therefore no pre-defined price attached to this role. We suggest that a rate of £500 - £600/day will be competitive, however please approach us if you have different requirements.

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. The MoD have indicated then intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement.

Specific Requirements

• Further develop the merging and digitisation of the Marine System Support Safety and Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) and the Marine System Support Engineering Management Plan (EMP).
• Review the current Ships Operating Centres’ Safety and Environmental Protection (S&EP) Organisation and Arrangements Statement regarding the escalation of S&EP decisions and risks within Marine Systems Design Authority (MSDA) and develop (if required) a local Desk Instruction for the escalation of S&EP decisions and risks within Marine Systems Design Authority (MSDA).
• Conduct a review across Marine System Support Senior Safety Responsible, Safety Responsible and Safety Delegated Assignments to identify levels of coherence and variation.
• Development and implementation of a “Digital Route Map” for Design Changes from “New Design Change Identified” to “Production of Certificate of Safe Marine System Design (For Integration)”.
• Development and implementation of a MSS Common Support Model (CSM) Audit Plan and the associated CSM Audit Question Set.

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 – General visas are cannot be accepted.
