About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit an advanced Scaffolder / Inspector to provide scaffolding support, including scaffolding inspection across HMNB Clyde sites, supporting both Estates and Submarines.

You will lead in scaffolding operations, both tube and fitting and recognise system scaffold products, and scaffolding inspections in which you will have been trained and assessed.

You will provide Essential Inspection and Tagging duties to Clyde Scaffolding structures and maintain registers for HSE requirements.

What do I need to do the role?

You will be a subject matter expert, qualified CISRS Advanced Scaffold Inspector and CISRS Gold Card holder with extensive scaffolding, rigging, tube and fitting and inspection experience working within a marine, engineering or large complex structure environment.

You will have previous leadership / team management experience, scaffolding and inspection experience working on ships or submarines would be advantageous.

You will be able to work on your own initiative and are solutions driven. You will also be able to interpret work instructions/drawings and perform the work on time to quality of standards expected when erecting, maintaining or altering and inspecting scaffolding.

What else do I need to know?

This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.

Although based at Clyde, there may be minimal support required for our Coulport site.

The shift pattern for this role is 8:05 - 16:45 Monday to Thursday and Friday 8:05 - 12:05 (36 hours in total) with overtime opportunities: evenings (time and a half) and weekends (double time).

You will need to be flexible as you may be asked to work occasional overtime.
