About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit four scaffolders to provide scaffolding support across HMNB Clyde sites, supporting both Estates and Submarines.

You will lead or participate in scaffolding operations, both tube and fitting and recognise system scaffold products, in which you will have been trained and assessed.

This is an exciting opportunity with potential to develop internally to an advanced level.

What do I need to do the role?

You will hold Part 1 & Part 2 Scaffolding qualification as a minimum and CISRS Blue Card with with a good knowledge of Access/Scaffolding solutions and legislation / Health, Safety and environmental issues / Risk Assessments and safe systems of work.

You will have scaffolding experience, working on ships or submarines and complex structures would be advantageous.

You will be competent in basic support tasks such as driving FLT (fork lift trucks) & cherry pickers, a 7.5 tonne truck license is also desirable.

You will have experience in manual handling and be able to work on your own initiative and are solutions driven. You will also be able to interpret work instructions/drawings and perform the work on time to quality of standards expected when erecting, maintaining or altering scaffolding.

What else do I need to know?

This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.

Although based at Clyde, there may be minimal support required for our Coulport site.

The shift pattern for this role is 8:05 - 16:45 Monday to Thursday and Friday 8:05 - 12:05 (36 hours in total) with overtime opportunities: evenings (time and a half) and weekends (double time).

You will need to be flexible as you may be asked to work occasional overtime.
