About the role
Overall Department Direction
The Facility operations and maintenance team operate the 9 Dock facilities to support all key Stakeholders. Currently the facility is being utilised to support HMS Vanguards Refit and therefore provides critical infrastructure to enable this project to be conducted. The Plant Operations Coordinator (POC) will be responsible for the safe provision of equipment and services within the 9 Dock facilities utilising a number of resources and assets.
On behalf of the Facility Operations Maintenance Manager the Plant Operations Coordinator (POC) will control all cranes within the 9 DOCK facility ensuring Operating rules and Instructions are adhered to at all times. Negotiate with all users for outages due to planned and unplanned maintenance. To ensure corrective Work Orders are generated and monitored to keep plant available.
To carry out the installation and maintenance on SRE equipment that has an impact on the facility and the safety case. To act as a Technical representative on behalf of the Nuclear Facilities Manager when specialist maintenance services are required.

To manage both labour and non-labour resources to support activities as required in adherence with compliance procedures and financial limits.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need a HNC/NVQ level 3 in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
You will also need to have experience in the following areas:
  • NIC, NSQAC, DSMTC
  • Radiological Training
  • Qualified Appointed Person under LOLER. Experience of planning and conducting lifting in accordance with BS7121-2-1:2012. 1 year relevant engineering experience. Conversant with risk assessment and project planning techniques. Confident in working within regulated environments. Good interpersonal skills.
