About the role
We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Buyer to join our Equipment Management Operations Centre Team working within Defence Systems Technology (DST), Bristol.
DST is a business unit within the Marine Sector of Babcock International Group. Working on a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects, DST works with a number of key clients domestically and internationally. We're based at a number of sites in the UK and overseas. The business continues to win new work and grow at a significant pace, as a result we are recruiting for talented, enthusiastic and driven people.
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Buyer to join the EMOC Team based in Bristol.
In this role you will play a key part in the transition, and with the development and improvement of the team's processes and capabilities. In addition, the successful applicant will help to deliver value along the whole supply chain and work extensively with internal and external stakeholders.
What do I need to do the role?
You'll be confident, self-motivated and with a flexible approach to workload. You will also be a good communicator with the ability to establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Supplier or Customer facing experience essential
  • Proficient IT skills, in particular, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems advantageous
  • Understanding of the supply chain function beneficial
  • Studying towards, or willing to study for, MCIPS qualification
  • Ability to assess and prioritis task effectively to ensure Customer demand is fulfilled on time in full.

Lastly, it would be desirable if you have a good understanding of the Company and Defence sector.
