Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £ 29,000.00 - £ 32,250.00 (dependent upon experience) plus excellent benefits


About the role
Here at Babcock we are looking to recruit a Trainer in Emergency Response with relevant experience to support the delivery of training of the Incident Response Team in all aspects of Emergency Response Operations.

This includes Foot and Mobile Patrols, Main Gate duties, searching, Control Room operation and any other security, Fire or Safety Incident on site. The role is based with the Incident Response Team support function and is primarily core business hours Monday to Friday but there may be a requirement on occasions to carry out duties outside of these hours.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need to have experience within an identified Training team where writing and delivering innovative training programmes was your core function. Experience of classroom based, practical and e learning design would be beneficial as would experience of assessing against occupational standards in the work place.

A minimum of a L4 Adult Learning qualification or equivalent experience with a L3 qualification is required for this role with the ability to work autonomously to design training that is innovative, safe, legal and effective using varied methodology.

Some of the tasks your learners carry are listed below and any relevant experience would assist within the training role as assessment in the work place could be part of your role:

  • Carry out duties aligned to the site security and safety on a BAU and Incident Response basis, responding to security, fire and safety incidents when required to do so
  • Carry out duties on the Main Gate carrying out vehicle searches and check visitor/staff passes during daytime hours.
  • Control access to and from site - Check passes of employees and visitors as they come onto site. Prevent Unauthorised Individuals entering the site. Control flow of vehicles leaving site. Prevent access to site during an incident as directed by Site Emergency Control Centre (SECC) (except when directed by SECC to admit external emergency vehicles and/or named individuals).
  • Search vehicles & pedestrians upon entry and exit and at other specified times.
  • Carry out Control Room duties as required. Monitor CCTV and security systems - Assessment of risks to the site through the use of CCTV. Monitor alarm systems.
  • Adhere to H & S guidelines at all times
  • Support emergency response and deploy resources - Respond appropriately to emergency calls and prompt necessary action. Monitor CCTV and alarm systems as appropriate. Coordinate emergency response as appropriate.
  • Detect and report and investigate suspected fence line integrity breaches to the control room
  • Detect and challenge unauthorised persons - Detect unauthorised persons - Prevent unauthorised persons from further breaching security. Control unauthorised persons until external emergency services arrive. Act within the protocols of civil powers of arrest and detention.
  • Building integrity checks and building open / lock up - Locking and unlocking of specified buildings.
  • Respond to medical incidents as first response in the workplace
  • Utilise JESIP and Decision Making Models where needed responding to appropriate Command and Control

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
