Role Summary/Purpose:
    There are currently 3 open positions across the following product lines: GE90, CFM & GP. Reporting to Product Business Leader, this is a key leadership role that will enable effective delivery fulfilment, operational success and customer satisfaction for the GE Wales facility. The successful individual will need to demonstrate leadership in communication and delivery of the strategy and goals of the GE Wales business and be able to develop and execute objectives for themselves and others.
Essential Responsibilities:
    The role holder will be expected to lead both short
    - and long-term business goals. The role involves effective management of a team of hourly and salaried materials and sourcing personnel, and the planning function for the associated product line at Wales.Own all aspects of the Materials and Planning function for a specific area or product line within the GE Wales facility, this will include
  • Operational Product Scheduling and Labour Planning (working closely with the Site Master Production Scheduler)
  • Setting departments KPI (predictive where possible) and holding team accountable to achieve these
  • Point of escalation for Sourcing, planning and materials teams, driving forward key issues with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure full kit availability to the operation in line with the plan
  • Inventory Management
  • Responsible for the Material Deflation of the product line
  • Oversee the Materials Fulfilment role
  • Ownership of Sub Contract & New Material streams including supplier management
  • Drive for EHS excellence & Quality Compliance
  • Staff Management & Development
  • Drive positive change with the team to continuously improve internal processes along with external supply of materialsThe role holder will;
  • Have responsibility to understand the business strategy and anticipate requirements for the organization delivery of this strategy
  • Have responsibility to Implement and lead material strategy for their business area
  • Effectively manage labour, materials and capacity in line with the products life cycle
  • Drive materials management strategy and implementation to achieve inventory turns, balance, and quality targets
  • Develop an integrated production schedule blending forecasted and customer requirements to the available product line resource
  • Be responsible for integrating customer commitments with shop, new supply, and vendor capacities to assure on time deliveries
  • Work closely and effectively with the Senior Leadership Team, and specifically with the appropriate Operational Lead
  • Interface with key stakeholders both internal and external to the Wales site
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Experience in a Manufacturing, Operations, or Materials Management / Planning positions
  • Proven track record of delivery in a challenging role

Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's degree or Higher Education Qualification from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge or experience
  • Understanding of production and inventory control techniques, i.e. material planning, master scheduling, and shop floor control
  • Exposure to financial measurements and accounting principles in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions and their effects on inventory management principles
  • Proven ability to influence outside of direct reporting line
  • Strong team player with high energy
  • Knowledgeable of Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP) essential
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills essential
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively manage changing and conflicting priorities and resolve appropriately
