About the role
The Estates Project Department is responsible for delivering extensive and diverse infrastructure upgrades and improvements across the entire Devonport Site and often beyond. A significant, recent commitment to invest in site improvement necessitates expansion of the existing core team to accommodate delivery.
As a Project Manager you'll manage specific property and facility projects within the Devonport Dockyard and the Base Services Estates from concept, feasibility and Design stages, through implementation and to formal hand-over.
What do I need to do the role?
As an experienced project manager, you'll be able to demonstrate considerable experience in managing staff and subcontracts, you'll have good interpersonal skills and be competent in verbal and written communication. With experience in quality management of external contractors and tender processes you'll also have an understanding in the supply chain management of contractors work packages. You'll also have completed (or be willing to):
  • YINC (Yard Introductory Nuclear Course)
  • Health and Safety Management of Subcontractors Course
  • Association of Project Managers (APM) Introductory Course
  • CDM Awareness
  • Asbestos Awareness Course
  • IOSH Managing Safely
Additionally, depending on your experience of managing tasks on the licensed site, the role may carry a requirement to carry out the Intelligent Customer function. This carries additional competence requirements through achievement of the following:
  • Nuclear Plant Foundation Course Module 1 (NUC0793)
  • Submarine Quality Assurance Course
  • Relevant Tier 1 Training for Safety Case in 9 Dock NUC 0847 - or equivalent
  • Relevant Tier 1 Training for Safety Case in SRC NUC 0696 - or equivalent
