Role Summary/Purpose:
    The Programme Manager - Civil Programmes, Propellers is responsible for delivery to customer contracts and achievement of the business case for production and in-service support for the portfolio of propeller systems for civil platforms. Achieving this will require close working (and resulting travel) with aircraft manufacturers and operators, and, within GE, colleagues in Supply Chain (Production and R&O), Engineering, Finance and other functions to meet targeted performance levels.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • You will work with Customers, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance and other functions to ensure delivery against existing contract commitments to meet business case approved for each Civil platform application, including provision of in-service support
  • You will lead the Propellers Product Management team to develop proposals for adding value to existing Propellers applications and in-service support on Civil platforms and capture in agreed strategy
  • You will assign tasks within the relevant functions to develop business cases and programme plans for projects to implement the strategy in a timely manner
  • You will hold Program Management Reviews to ensure tasks are being carried out to plan, that contracts are being adhered to and that and risks are being actively managed
  • Track and provide report out on specific business metrics established by management
  • Present high-risk projects to Management and Project Management for discussion and approval prior to quotation
  • Work with Contracts function to ensure accuracy of proposals prior to submission to customers, as well as addressing contract issues as they arise
  • Work with Supply Chain and Sourcing to ensure bids from contractors and suppliers are provided to support proposals in a timely manner
  • Work with Sales & Marketing team to promote the successful sale of propeller systems and associated service support structures on Civil platforms
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge or experience
  • Proven product management experience
  • Proven estimating experience

Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience is preferred
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to help build effective processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Six Sigma training is preferred
  • Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills
  • Ability to interact at all levels with Customers, as well as within the GE Aviation organisation
