Job Details

Are you a radio frequency and electronic specialist who is looking for a rare opportunity?

We need a senior Radio Frequency and electronic specialist who will be able to deliver bespoke RF and electronic systems to operationally deploying platforms, working with service operators and maintainers.

Your role:

Your role starts with planning and development, providing expert advice to customers over the development of advanced RF and electronic systems.

You will spend time in the build room, building up special purpose equipment fits for platforms. You, with a small team, will then deliver the fit to the platform and test its operability. The programme is fluid, and you will need to be prepared for changing timescales, achieved via a close relationship with other stakeholders. Throughout the testing process, you will provide timely, impartial, evidence-based advice to customers to enable them to make informed decisions on the fitness for purpose of platforms with special purpose equipment fits. There is also the opportunity to plan, conduct, and lead various types of trials across land, air and sea domains.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A deep understanding of Naval Electronic Warfare, Radio Frequency, and electronic systems.

• Experience of working on board Royal Navy platforms and associated engineering practices

• The willingness to work away from home as part of a small team of specialists for up to 2-3 weeks at a time

• Previously led small technical teams

Qualifications

Degree level engineering or equivalent (E.g. RN Artificer course plus experience, or engineering apprenticeship with HND plus experience)

A full UK Driving Licence due to the requirement to support trials activities in some remote locations.
