Security Cleared (SC) 2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer

Currently seeking an SC Cleared 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer, to work for my client based at their offices in Anglesey, Wales; due to commence ASAP for an initial duration of 3 months with view for possible further extension from there.

Due to the nature of the role and the time scale and requirements issued by the client, candidates have been advised to hold current and active SC clearance for this opportunity for this role.

Role Overview:

Provide second and third line support and technical implementation: installation, maintenance, performance optimization of infrastructure technologies

Key Responsibilities :
•
◦Evaluate hardware and software (for server, network, storage or desktop environments)

◦Test all deliverables produced and document results.

◦Integration and test of new products (both hardware and software) for incorporation into program infrastructure.

◦Administration and enhancement of the environment and its supportability.

◦Provide second line support.

◦Carry out project tasks to ensure the viability of the project

◦Accurately assess time to complete tasks in order to follow standard project processes and procedures.

◦To be aware of the relevant SLA structure and to respond, fix or escalate according to the limits set out within that structure.

◦Maintain Operational and User procedures to ensure that Team Leader is informed of progress.

Essential Skills:
• The Infrastructure Engineer will have good working knowledge of their technology area.

◦Good working knowledge and experience of associated infrastructure engineering tools, techniques, methods within their specialist area.

◦Demonstrable experience of working as an Infrastructure Engineer on small or medium sized software engineering projects.

◦Infrastructure skills covering administration, fault finding/diagnosis and fix

◦Experience within a customer support environment.

◦Documentation Skills, with the ability to produce documents for use by an end user, as well as operational procedure documentation for use by service desk personnel.

◦Extensive work experience in infrastructure Management

◦·Windows Server up to 2016 inc Active Directory

·VMware

·SCCM \ WSUS \ Patching

·0365 \ SFB

·Microsoft Exchange

·Networking (Switches, Routers and Firewalls)

·Backup

·Azure / AWS or other cloud vendor experience

Desirable Skills:

•Experience of: File/Print Clusters an advantage, enterprise level Thin Client environments an advantage, messaging systems an advantage, working to tight SLA's
•Accreditation to MCP level or equivalent.
•Diploma in Computer Sciences
