About the role
As a Senior Buyer your role will support the construction and infrastructure requirements covering multiple business areas within Babcock. You'll be responsible for the procurement and commercial activates spanning pre-contract, post contract and project completion.
You'll be responsible for the coordination of the process for tendering or work by contractors and consultants, preparation and dispatch of tender documents and tender invites. You'll process purchase orders, identify contractors and negotiate prices and carry out performance reviews.
In addition to this, you'll also ensure the purchasing system is fully maintained, you'll build strong working relationships to ensure delivery programmes are achieved and seek out commitment to improve plans relating to deliver and operational phase and completion.
What do I need to do the role?
To be successful in role, you'll need to be an experiences Buyer and have appropriate knowledge and experience of procurement activities and construction and commercial activities. In addition, you'll also need:
  • Experience in managing and building strong relationships with contractors and suppliers
  • Knowledge of business systems, process and compliance
  • Qualifies or working towards CIPS
  • Significant experience in the role of a buyer and commercial environment
