Apprentice Motor Vehicle Technician  
Camberwell
 
About the role
To serve and successfully complete an apprenticeship over a period of four years to become a fully qualified Motor Vehicle Technician.
  1. To attend college as and when required, in order to complete NVQ Level II and III portfolios in the required time scale
  2. To be receptive to all reasonable job instructions and ensure that all on-the-job learning is carried out in a responsible and appropriate manner.
  3. Attend all training courses required by the company within the Apprenticeship period.
  4. To learn the use of specialist tools, diagnostic equipment and test procedures whilst working on various vehicles.
  5. To report any defects relating to vehicle safety etc., to the instructing Technician or Workshop Supervisor.
  6. To maintain an awareness of compliance with current and future legislation with regards to Health and Safety, COSHH and Environmental Protection Act.
  7. To attend residential training courses, as required, throughout the apprenticeship.
  8. To assist the instructing technician in all aspects of work, as shown or instructed to do.
  9. To ensure that where required, all time recording of attendance and time of jobs is correctly recorded.
  10. Be fully up-to-date on all Health and Safety issues related to workshops.
  11. To prepare and complete any evidence of learning required for college, the company or outside assessors.
  12. Strive to deliver excellent customer service.
  13. In accordance with our certification to the standards OHSAS 18001, ISO9001 and ISO 14001 each employee will comply with and contribute to the effective implementation of the current Babcock International Group :

  14. To work within established Company policies and procedures.
  15. Promote company values and standards and exhibit appropriate behaviour in accordance with Company ethos.

  18. Maintain excellent levels of communication throughout the team and the wider business.
  19. To carry out any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs.
