About the role
To serve and successfully complete an apprenticeship over a period of four years to become a fully qualified Motor Vehicle Technician.
- To attend college as and when required, in order to complete NVQ Level II and III portfolios in the required time scale
- To be receptive to all reasonable job instructions and ensure that all on-the-job learning is carried out in a responsible and appropriate manner.
- Attend all training courses required by the company within the Apprenticeship period.
- To learn the use of specialist tools, diagnostic equipment and test procedures whilst working on various vehicles.
- To report any defects relating to vehicle safety etc., to the instructing Technician or Workshop Supervisor.
- To maintain an awareness of compliance with current and future legislation with regards to Health and Safety, COSHH and Environmental Protection Act.
- To attend residential training courses, as required, throughout the apprenticeship.
- To assist the instructing technician in all aspects of work, as shown or instructed to do.
- To ensure that where required, all time recording of attendance and time of jobs is correctly recorded.
- Be fully up-to-date on all Health and Safety issues related to workshops.
- To prepare and complete any evidence of learning required for college, the company or outside assessors.
- Strive to deliver excellent customer service.
- In accordance with our certification to the standards OHSAS 18001, ISO9001 and ISO 14001 each employee will comply with and contribute to the effective implementation of the current Babcock International Group :
