Developer-MS Visual Basic 6.0 / .NET/SQL &

Be proficient with MS Visual Basic 6.0 / .NET
Be proficient with MS Excel / Word VBA
Be proficient with SQL
Be able to install, administer and maintain COTS software, third-party bespoke software, and in house bespoke TARDIC software
Demonstrate competence to manage all phases of software development life-cycle (planning, requirements, design, code, testing acceptance, trials, installation and through life maintenance).
Demonstrate the range of skills to develop applications, maintain the existing code base, assist the User and maintain the operational capability of the TARDIS system
Be cognisant of and facilitate the implementation of MoD security Policy
Install, administer and maintain encryption software and crypto key management
Install, administer and maintain anti-virus software
Install, administer and maintain backup software
Fault finding and Rectification of defects on Ship's weapon systems based on field reports from the user community
Have knowledge of RN Weapon Systems.

·        Have experience of Project Planning and reporting

·        Have experience of DEC Pascal

·        Have experience of DEC Basic

·        Have experience of DEC Command Language

·        Have experience of JAVA

·        Have experience of Sys Admin for Open VMS
