About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Helicopter Hoist Operations Pilot.
An exciting opportunity to join Babcock Onshore, a leading provider of mission-critical helicopter services to the air ambulance, police and offshore sectors. We provide world-class operations to our customers helping them to save lives and protect communities every day.
Our fleet of 32 helicopters from bases across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland has been providing dedicated air ambulance support for more than 20 years and our police helicopters have been supporting UK communities for almost a decade. Babcock Onshore constantly invests in new aircraft, equipment and training to ensure the consistent capability to deliver safe, dependable operational excellence at all times.
Headquartered in Staverton, Gloucestershire, Babcock Onshore is a leading provider of aviation services for mission-critical operations across ten countries. We are part of Babcock International Group, a global provider of critical asset, infrastructure and training support to many sectors including emergency services, energy and defence.
We are supporting Orsted in the construction and maintenance of the Walney Extension Offshore Windfarm. This will initially comprise of a Touring Role to and from Blackpool, until full HHO operations commence at Barrow-in-Furness later in 2018, you would be required to reside within 45 minutes / 25 miles of Barrow.
What do I need to do the role?
You'll need to hold an EASA ATPL (H) or CPL(H) with IR
Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
Either :
  • 1500 hours pilot in command of aircraft of which 500 hours is pilot in command on twin turbine helicopters; or
  • 1500 hours as co-pilot in HHO operations of which 200 hours is as pilot in command under supervision of twin turbine helicopters.
  • 2000 hours minimum total helicopter experience.
  • 500 hours operating experience in twin turbine helicopters in an operational environment similar to the intended operation.
  • 20 hours VFR at night as pilot in command.
  • Fluent English, Driving License, Passport, Right to Work in the UK.
What else do I need to know?
Candidates would also ideally:
  • Be qualified and instrument rated on the EC135.
  • Have a minimum of 50 offshore hoist cycles.
  • Have current or recent offshore/HHO experience.
To be eligible to apply for this role, you must be a British citizen, European Economic Area (EEA) national, a Commonwealth Citizen or Foreign National with no restrictions on your stay in the UK.
