Infrastructure Network Technician

LOCATION: Mons

DURATION: End of this year

CONTRACT: Consultant

SALARY: Negotiable daily rate

TASKS:

• Responsible for the system adm1nistrat1on of assigned systems Identifies operational problems and contributes to their resolution Server platform problem resolution
• Implements & tests new hardware/software releases
• Contributes to the development of Standard Operating Procedures for routine system administration tasks
• Uses system management software and tools to collect agreed performance stat1st1csCarries out agreed system software maintenance tasks

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 5 years experience working in a communications infrastructure
• environment, working with Cat6. MTP links and MM and SM fibers. Structured wiring
• experience is a must, with full knowledge of Rack building, populating and power
• requirements and will be comfortable with reading and creating records. A high level of
• TEMPEST and NATO security working practices is needed and being able to work
• unsupervised and manage your own time and complete daily tasks to a high standard.

Qualifications Required

• Fibre optics in an internal environment
• Copper cabling in an internal environment
• Structured wiring design and build

Experience Required

• Data Centre cable infrastructure
• MTP Fibre installations
• Rack build and installation
• Cat6-6A rack installation, testing and termination.
• TEMPEST
• Health and safety in communications room.
• Electrical safety
• ITSM
• Previous employment with in SHAPE and knowledge of systems in building 185 preferred

Experience Desired

• CCNA R&S or equivalent certification
• 3M level AIC or equivalent
• 3+ years of NATO experience
