As Buyer you will be joining the client's design and build team, carrying out procurement tasks for various project teams. The role will be varied and allow for career progression. You will be supporting all aspects of the project programmes.

Your responsibilities will include:

Collaboration and partnering with project/engineering to understand requirements.
Processing requisitions.
Raising requests for quotation.
Raising purchase orders.
Order book management.
Supplier visits/order expediting.

About you:

Previous experience in a similar Buying or Procurement role.
Manufacturing and/or engineering experience with machining/fabrication/estimating is desirable as well as marine defence experience.
Ability to read engineering drawings is very desirable
Understand and challenge design for manufacture.
Experience and knowledge of forging and casting process.
Experience and knowledge of machining methods.
Proficient IT skills, in particular, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Studying towards, or willing to study for, MCIPS qualification.
Ability to assess and prioritise tasks effectively to ensure Customer demand is fulfilled on time in full.
Holder of a Full UK Driving license.
Strong interest in the defence sector.
