Role overview

This massive IT Estate has a new permanent position for a Network Engineer to join their Operational Security Team.  As an IT Security Analyst in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) role, you will be delivering real time proactive monitoring and response to Security Threats, Incidents and Alerts.  This fantastic opportunity forms a key part of the delivered service function.  It is essential that you hold or are prepared to obtain advanced security clearance for this position.

Key responsibilities

  • Creating SIEM dashboards, queries and alerts.
  • Completing post incident reporting under.
  • Using IOC's and log correlation tools to identify events of interest and respond to security incidents.
  • Monitor client email gateways to ensure compliance with existing security policies.
  • Microsoft Client/Windows administration
  • Server/network security.
  •  

Essential Experience:

  • Core MS Windows administration skills (MCSA/MCSE or CompTIA)
  • Previously held an IT support role, in a secure environment
  • TCP/IP Fundamentals
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Knowledge of ITIL (ITIL Foundation certificate or experience working in ITIL environments)
  • Willingness and ability to be DV Cleared

Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of MoD, CESG and other mandated government IT legislation
  • Experience working with SIEM tools and related security monitoring tools
  • Good networking experience and expertise (CCNA or equivalent)
  • Any relevant security certification. (CISMP, Sec+, etc.)
