Location: Brussels, Belgium

Rate: Negotiable (about 450€ a day, depending on experience)

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months initially (possibility of extension upon completion of this contract)

Hours per week: 40 hours

Industry: Aerospace

The client: One of our main customers and a key player within the civil aviation industry in Europe. They specialise in the design, production and assembly of complex structural elements for both aircraft and spacecraft, specific software and electronic, electrical and electro-hydraulic components.

Main responsibilities:

• Controls ME resources and leads operations at ME level
• Plans the overall activities and leads the team, carrying out different tasks:

• Responsible for the budget cycle and year plan
• Develops, evaluates and leads team members
• Responsible for all ME projects
  • Oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency
  • Responsible for the development of equipment to improve the manufacturing process (production tooling)
  • Reviews, evaluates and implements engineering changes and specification requirements
  • Coordinates with his team the implementation and completion of relevant Research & Technology projects
  • Provides input to strategic decisions impacting the manufacturing engineering area of business
  • Liaising with other departments accordingly to resolve any potential operational issues
  • Supports the technical quotes for new parts, assemblies and modifications
  • Leads a team responsible for machine tooling and consumables
  • Reports to the Head of Operations.

Must haves:

• MSc in engineering (mechatronics or mechanics) with minimum 10 years relevant experience in production, engineering and/or manufacturing engineering
• Sound knowledge of machining of parts and CNC programming
• Experienced in assemblies and the automation of processes
• Fluent in (at least 2 of the) the following languages: Dutch, French and English
• Familiar with the principles of an ERP system
• Data driven mindset and analytical approach to work
• Empowered and able to launch activities on his own
