Micro-Electronics Development Engineer

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Rate: Negotiable (up to 450€ a day, depending on experience)

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months initially (possibility of extension upon completion of this contract)

Hours per week: 40 hours

The client: One of our main customers and a key player within the civil aviation industry in Europe. They specialise in the design, production and assembly of complex structural elements for both aircrafts and spacecraft, specific software and electronic, electrical and electro-hydraulic components.

Job description: The individual will be responsible, together with other members of the team, for transferring specific VHDL designs on an FPGA and / or ASIC for an aeronautical application. This will be completed under DO-254 compliance DAL A compliance. Compliance with the Technical Specification, the Architecture Document and other technical need to be ensured using the V-cycle methodology.

The various technical documents compliant with the DO-254 DAL-A standard will be written in English. Additionally, taking part in future EASA audit meetings is also on route.

Finally, depending on the project development support to the embedded software/ software team could also be expected.

Main requirements:

  • Senior engineer with vast experience working on VHDL language and used to simulation environments based on Perl, Python, Tcl / Tk, etc.
  • Sound knowledge of standards and methodologies specific to the aerospace industry such as DO-254, DOORS, development standards, etc… is essential.
  • Fundamentals of digital and analog electronic systems, based on microprocessor / microcontroller architecture.
  • Fluent in English language (Level B2 required), both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of Linux commands is advantageous.
  • Previous exposure to C, C ++ programming languages is a huge plus.
  • Knowledge of Office package: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, ...
