Role Summary/Purpose:
    The RDB Software Engineer is responsible for the design and development of Resource Databases for Remote Interface Units within an integrated team environment. You will demonstrate independence and sound technical judgement to execute assignments, take an innovative approach to problem-solving and share technical knowledge with others in the team and across the organisation.
Essential Responsibilities:
    The RDB Software Engineer supports the work group in order to meet assigned objectives.In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
  • With guidance from senior engineering resources, develop systems and software requirements, design, implementation, verification and integration using sound engineering principles, adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product / program requirements
  • Build an understanding of embedded systems architectures, implementations and their interfaces to system level functions and software designs.
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organisational initiatives
  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
  • Document and communicate technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on issues and developments
  • Work to D0178C aerospace standards
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Engineering / Science Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent level of knowledge or experience
  • Experience developing safety critical software or systems
  • Experience of the RIU domain
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good problem solving and solution building skills
  • Willingness and motivation to learn new processes and tools
  • Proven proactive attitude to challenges
  • Poven ability to work to timescales, achieve personal deadlines and contribute to team deadlines
  • Methodical approach, including checking of own work
