LOCATION: Afghanistan
DURATION: 1-year renewable
CONTRACT: Consultant
SALARY: Negotiable daily rate
WORK HOURS: Based on rotations: 6 weeks on site/6 weeks home, 7 days a week, 10 hours per day (with possible night shifts)
CLEARANCE: NATO COSMIC TOP SECRET
TASKS:
Service monitoring:
- Ensures server rooms meet operational conditions and request maintenance as required
- Manages NATO Unclassified, ISAF Secret, and NATO Secret Networks
- Manages the creation and removal of user accounts
- Manages, supports and maintains mail services, gateway, and internet proxies
- Produces Server configuration reports
- Ensures that backups are executed and completed as scheduled
- Maintains servers and applies patches and upgrades
- Maintains and monitors storage devices: NetApp
- Upon an incident detection, or end-user TT (Incident or Service request) received from the User Support Group
Solve the incident:
- Handle appropriate remote servers/any IT devices configuration
- And/or Trigger FT for a Level 1 corrective maintenance intervention on-site
- And/or Trigger Comms Expert team leader (or IDS team leader if ancillaries issue) for a Level 2 corrective maintenance intervention on-site
- And/or Escalate to OSQ Level 3 support in case of problem or complex incident
- For a end-user TT, check with end-user the TT issue is fixed, and set the TT to fixed state
- Weekly report (significant facts) towards the IT Group team leader
- Carry-out problems investigation with level 3 back office support
- Provides support to the ISAF theatre service desk for sys admin related problems
- Updates and creates trouble tickets in detail with pertinent information
- Apply to the network the Software Changes, upon the Team leader’s request
- Servers and Workstations administration (Linux, Windows): Level 2-3 (high skilled expert)
- IS applications administration (email, File transfer, Web facilities, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS…) Level 2-3 (high skilled expert)
- Collect and analyse statistics for capacity planning
- Follows standard operating procedures for automated data processes (e.g. server management, system administration tasks)
- System performance tuning and disaster recovery planning
- Performs system-wide backups, and load and capacity planning and management
- Produces and updates standard operating procedures for automated data processes (e.g. server management, system administration tasks)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experienced in working in hazardous, industrial and Multinational environment
- 2 to 3 years of experience in Military context
- A few years of experience in IT (Infra) Administration:
- Generic servers and Workstations administration (Linux, Windows)
- IS applications administration (email, File transfert, Web facilities, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS...)
- Specific knowledge and experience in virtualization technologies would be appreciated
- Specific knowledge and experience in storage technologies would be appreciated
