Ascent Flight Training Ltd is the training design and delivery organisation appointed as the UK MOD's Training Service Partner. Our sole purpose is to provide the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) for the Armed Forces until 2033. We deliver the UKMFTS programme as part of a unique partnering arrangement with RAF 22 Group and the UKMFTS Project Team within the MOD's Defence Equipment and Support organisation.

King Air 350ER Pilot for Ascent's Rear Crew training facility at RNAS Culdrose, Cornwall, UK. The facility is for rear crew training and assessment prior to further training courses or entry to Operational Conversion Units. The primary purpose of the unit is to teach navigation techniques and airmanship behaviours, including maritime tactical sortie profiles, on the Beechcraft King Air 350 and a tactical mission training simulator.
 
 
   

Key Responsibilities  
  • Act as single pilot and member of the pilot cadre for KA350ER 'Avenger' sorties as part of the UKMFTS RCT Operation
  • Perform all duties associated with safe and proficient operation of the KA350ER 'Avenger' aircraft
  • Reports to the Ascent Rear Crew Training Chief Pilot/ Senior Pilot at RNAS Culdrose
  • Must ensure that all aircraft procedures, flight operations practices, standards, and records comply with Ascent company procedures and legal obligations
  • Perform as Pilot in Command on King Air 350ER aircraft and serve as aircraft commander in accomplishing scheduled and unscheduled flights as required by the flying programme
  • Will be expected to work within FTLs defined within EU Ops
  • Maintain all related currencies and qualifications and requirements to ensure available for flying duties
  • Ensure an efficient programme for pilot currency maintenance and conversions is carried out
  • Operate the aircraft safely and effectively daily
 
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Essential:
  • Current MoD Aircrew medical
  • 1000+ hours PIC, 500+ hours PIC on twin turboprop aircraft
  • Previous military flying experience
  • Previous experience flying in the UK Low Flying System
  • Previous 'single pilot' experience
  • Speak fluent English
  • Competent in the use of MS Office Applications
  • Strong team player
  • Strong oral and written communicator
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate with customers, peers and senior management
  • Strong work ethic
