Systems Engineer - Mission Planning and Control

A Systems Engineer is required for a long term contract assignment based in Bristol for a multi national defence company.

This will involve taking an existing baseline and ensuring requirements are suitable, performing linking between modules and identifying proving codes and methods as well as performing some initial evaluation using some existing baseline software.

* Sound understanding of System Engineering Process is essential with recent experience in a systems engineering role. * Experience in tools for Requirements Capture and Control (DOORS) and Configuration Management essential. * General understanding of Mission Planning principles would be beneficial. * Experience of technical problem solving. * Ability to communicate and work effectively in a collaborative environment spanning a number of teams and locations is essential. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills including an ability to author or contribute to technical reports and documentation are essential. * Understanding and experience of trade off analysis and solution generation. * Excellent 'can do' attitude and pro-active behaviours are essential. * Experience of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML may prove advantageous. * Engineering degree or equivalent. * Good project and risk management skills and knowledge would be of benefit.
