IT Business Support Engineer
Location: RAF Brize Norton, Carterton, Oxfordshire
Permanent, Full time
Salary: Up to £30,000 + up to £2k on call allowance

About the role

Here in Babcock International we're looking for an IT Business Support Engineer to join us at site at RAF Brize Norton. You will operate a role offering desktop, application and network support in a customer focused environment. This support will be for a variety of business systems used in the aerospace industry which will include engineering reach-back kits, video conferencing services, AirNav local installation, printing services and telephone support.

Your responsibilities will also include:

• Problem analysis and providing technical support for suppliers to identify solutions
• Maintaining accurate records in service desk and incident logs

Whilst on call, remote access into Babcock systems will be made available for support and maintenance tasks, however on site presence is preferred

And as you're supporting our business we'll be supporting you. Training will be offered to ensure you can fulfil your role effectively, and you will not be put on the on call rota until you have been in the role for 6 months and fully up to speed.

What do I need to do the role?

You must have strong customer facing skills with the ability to support desktop and IT services within a service desk environment. Experience dealing with software packages in a Windows environment is also important and knowledge of Cisco, Active Directory, Linux and Wintel are nice to have but not essential.

What else do I need to know about the role?

• You will work a 40 hour week Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30
• You will be on an on call rota 1 in every 6 weeks after your probation period
• All applicants must have or be able to obtain SC security clearance
