About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Manoeuvring Room/Marine Engineering Instructor/Trainer to join our Astute-Class Submarine Training Team.

You will deliver Astute Class Training Service (ACTS) instruction to students, predominantly within the Marine Engineering (ME) & Nuclear Steam Raising Plant (NSRP) disciplines. You will also to provide assistance with generic training, for example, Astute Class Familiarisation and Submarine Qualification Training (SMQ).

You will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and will support the review and evaluation of technical data/notifications of change, identifying the impact of change on existing ME and NSRP courseware.

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need to have knowledge of Astute Class or Vanguard Class Submarines and hold Category B Watchkeeper qualification.

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
  • Dual electrical and mechanical qualification (Double Category B)
  • Dual "H" experience is highly desirable
  • Defence Train the Trainer (DTTT) qualification is desirable
  • Previous experience of training delivery is desirable

What else do I need to know?

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
  • Based at HMND Clyde
  • 37 hours per week, Mon to Fri
