Service Lead

Job Role: Service Lead

Contract Length: 6 Months (Inside of IR35)

Location: Manchester


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Service Lead to join a Manchester based organisation. The Service Lead will drive the design, development and implementation of evidenced strategies and will commission, oversee, analyse and interpret complex work packages and deliver high quality projects, reports and presentations.

Role Profile:

The Service Lead is responsible for the performance and impact of the following service areas which play an important role in driving the improvement in services and outcomes;

*Independent Reviewing Officer Service
*Child Protection Conferencing Service
*Designated Officer for management of allegations against adult who work with children.
*Advisor to Manchester Safeguarding Children's Board (Multi Agency Safeguarding Arrangements)
*Safeguarding in Education Service
*Workforce Learning and Development
*Quality Assurance arrangements

Key Technologies and experience:

*An experienced social worker who has extensive experience of managing and leading services for looked after children and young people and those in need of protection.
*Operational management of the Safeguarding and Improvement Unit
*Implementation of service performance and quality assurance frameworks
*Providing reports on the quality of practice, plans and arrangements for children looked after and those in need of protection.
*Developing and maintaining effective partnership working is in place to meet statutory safeguarding responsibilities
*Develop effective safeguarding policies, procedures and guidance
*Provide specialist advice and guidance on Children's Safeguarding matters
*An excellent understanding of the Local Authorities Statutory responsibilities, legislation and current guidance in relation to looked after children and safeguarding. Can demonstrate you have applied this in practice.
*Proven ability to effectively manage and lead services to looked after children and children in need of protection.
*Considerable experience of contributing to the work of a Local Safeguarding Children Board.
