The Candidate

We are seeking a highly organised data management professional who is well versed in completion of data management tasks. The ideal candidate for this role will have deployed their skills recently within a NATO, MoD, Army, Navy, Airforce or commercial Defence environment.

The Role

Role responsibilities:

  • Perform Data Management to Support Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Activities
  • Perform Data Management activities in support of Operations and Maintenance Technical Publication verification and validation
  • Provide day-to-day support to the ILS IPT Lead, in particular to update and populate ILS related databases
  • Create, administer and manage NAGSMA databases to support verification and validation activities for the technical publications and logistics databases
  • Download, register, check consistency and complete local administration as required for logistics related databases
  • Provide data visualisation and reporting for senior leadership at the direction of the ILS IPT Lead
  • Review and update content to ensure necessary consistency and quality of information
  • Provide support to the ILS IPT working group meetings.

 

 

The Opportunity

Candidate will be based at NATO HQ in Brussels, provide support to the NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance Management Agency (NAGSMA), and work directly for the Engineering Branch Manager.  This is a brilliant opportunity for a confident and organised database manager to take a key role within this project team. The role is in Brussels so would suit someone residing there already or with the ability to work and remain there without hindrance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline, or equivalent experience;
  • Experience in database administration;
  • Expert in the use of personal computer office automation packages MS Office Suite;
  • Competency in the creation and management of MS-SharePoint sites for information storage and dissemination;
  • Basic knowledge of MS Project 2010;
  • SQL knowledge/experience with GUI 
  • Experience with the use automated colour graphic equipment, printers and copiers;
  • Familiarity with the use of computer-based administrative support tools.
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Willingness to contribute to integrated team work;
  • Proficiency with office software tools to include MS Office Suites;
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain NATO Secret Clearance;
  • National of one of the NATO member nations.

 

 

Non-essential requirements

  • Prior experience of working in an international environment (military or civilian)
  • Some knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including the NATO Military Authorities
  • Some knowledge of NATO political and operational domains
  • Knowledge in Microsoft SharePoint website development
  • Experience with data dashboards, graphs, data visualisation, and infographics
  • Experience with data mining and analysis to make valid inferences and clearly present them in a graphical representation or data visualisation
