Here at Cavendish Nuclear we're looking for a 3D Mechanical Designer to join us at our new business hub in Birchwood, Warrington. From here we serve customers in the UK and overseas to deliver a range of projects across the lifecycle of nuclear energy, from the construction of new plant through to the decommissioning of redundant facilities and site remediation. You'll be part of a team producing mechanical design deliverables such as Mechanical Handling Equipment, Special Purpose Machinery and Lifting Equipment.

Role Description

As one of our 3D Mechanical Designers you will be responsible for the provision of fit for purpose and cost effective designs in accordance with required standards, to timescale and budget, ensuring minimum rework following checking.

You will be responsible for the production of:

• Design Schemes
• Design Proposal Drawings (DPD's)
• Detail Manufacturing Drawings
• General Assemblies
• Mechanical Handling Drawings (MHD's)
• Mechanical Sequence Drawings (MSD's)
• Mechanical Flow Drawings (MFD's)

Person Profile

You will hold a HNC (or equivalent) qualification and prior experience within the nuclear sector, it would also be beneficial to have some working experience of Sellafield
Limited projects, processes and procedures. You will naturally have significant experience of producing mechanical designs AutoCAD and (ideally) Inventor. In addition,
experience within a Vault environment would be beneficial. You will have a good knowledge of fabrication techniques and an understanding of achievable manufacturing accuracy. A good working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, weld symbols, limits and fits along with commonly used material and associated standards will also be required.

Security

Successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
