About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Crew Manager to supervise and ensure the provision of Airfield Rescue & Firefighting (ARFF) cover for airfield operations under the guidelines of Defence Fire & Rescue (DFR), Babcock and Fire Section orders and instructions.

You will respond to any form of emergency or incident involving Company or visiting aircraft, either actual or practice, and to carry out other tasks or duties as allocated by Line or Site Management as required to meet or exceed customer expectations and LAFT2 contractual needs at all times.

Alongside this, you will support all aspects of contract compliance and assume responsibility for the Fire Section performance outputs in the absence of the Watch Manager and deputise for the WM to deliver compliance, business and continuity to the customer whilst liaising to maintain Crash Categories and undertake airfield support tasks as detailed by the ATC.

Main responsibilities include:
  • Supervise the fire crew in responding to any incident as directed by ATC and safely operate in role iaw the DFR Incident Command System as Crew Commander.
  • To ensure all firefighters are SQEP and current in all required competencies at all times.
  • To drive and operate fire vehicles, support vehicles and all related support equipment
  • To assist in the handling of casualties and administer first-aid.
  • Maintain personal training records as required.
  • Hold an ASIMS account and maintaining an active part in the Station Flight Safety system
What do I need to do the role?

You must hold:
  • A Defence Fire and Rescue approved Crew Manager Incident Management qualification
  • A current Defence Fire & Rescue approved Operational Breathing Apparatus Wearers Cert
  • A CFBT Level 4 Cert
  • An LGV C Class 2 driving licence with current DFR Emergency Response Driving Certificate

What else do I need to know?

  • All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks. Verification of any qualifications/passport/licences must be shown at interview stage.
