My client, a high profile Government Department, is seeking to fill several Assistant Business Partner (HEO) roles.

The roles are central to the relationship between an individual business areas and the various finance functions.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Line management responsibilities for 2 executive officers and countersigning officer; encouraging training and development, ensuring they are given opportunities to broaden their skills.
  • Production of monthly forecasts, monitoring expenditure, co-ordination of monthly accrual/creditors, journal entries, manual adjustments and ensuring clear & concise audit trails are maintained.
  • Support the pre-holding to account meetings with the relevant financial data.
  • Point of contact for NAO queries.
  • Oversee the production of financial data in relation to various budgets and review and challenge monthly forecasts.
  • Responsible for maintaining robust headcount position, including monthly pay reconciliations.
  • Production of Planning and Budget Holder packs (where applicable).
  • Ensure the budget is correctly rolled forward on the system and resources are allocated to each delivery unit.
  • Provide financial advice/guidance as required to Budget Holders and Business areas.
  • Scrutiny of expenditure and local expenditure controls.
  • Maintain financial control and regularity of various budgets and evidence controls where appropriate.
  • Dissemination of expenditure data to Budget Holders.
  • Attend Budget Holder/Team Leader meetings as appropriate

Experience and/or knowledge of government finance and the operation of fiscal events is highly desirable. SC clearance is essential and only candidates with valid SC clearance can be considered.
