Electronic Engineer Support - SC Required

I have a great opportunity for a SC or DV cleared individual to work on a long term project within the defence sector.

The objectives of the Challenger 2 Life Extension Project (CR2 LEP) Assessment Phase 2 (AP2) are to:

a.Address obsolescence within the scope of the CR2 LEP System Boundary to extend the Out of Service Date (OSD) from 2025 to 2040,
b.Maintain current CR2 capability, including the use of Interfacing Programmes & Systems (IP&S),
c.Enhance Lethality and Survivability in key areas,
d.Facilitate future growth.

An Electronic Engineer is required to support the CR2 LEP Delivery Team (DT) in the Survivability and Interfacing Programmes & Systems (IP&S) domains.

As a minimum the Survivability and IP&S Electronic Engineer shall:

*Have knowledge of Electronic Survivability Systems for Armoured Fighting Vehicles; Active Protection Systems (APS), Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) and Laser Warning Systems (LWS) - Essential.

*Have knowledge of Electronic Training Systems for Armoured Fighting Vehicles; Live Fire Monitoring Equipment (LFME), Area Weapons Effects Simulator (AWES) & Direct Fire Weapons Effects Simulator (DFWES) - Desirable.

Tasks:

Manage the IP&S aspects of the CR2 LEP.
*Review ICDs
*Facilitate engagement with IP&S programme teams
*Coordinate the dependencies and assumptions between IP&S and CR2 LEP
*Identify IP&S risks

Support the Survivability Lead in maturing the system requirements for APS, ECM & LWS.

Liaise with E2A Lead to ensure that the electrical and electronic aspects of the Survivability systems and IP&S are compatible with CR2 Mk2 and vice-versa.

Attend and support relevant contractor working groups focussing on Survivability and IP&S.

Review all relevant contract deliverables and provide constructive feedback
Support the Chief Engineer in developing tender documents for the Demonstration & Manufacture Phase.

Support the Team Leader in preparing the Main Gate Business Case.
