About the role

Here at Babcock we are looking to recruit an Armament Technician within our Forward Engineering Section. This role is to work within the Armament Section covering both Forward and Depth Engineering to meet workload requirements. There is also a requirement to support aircraft recoveries and detachments which would necessitate working away from Linton.

  • Ejection Seat Corrective and Preventative Maintenance tasks, as required.
  • Aircraft Maintenance Fitting & Removal of Ejection Seats.
  • Canopy Corrective and Preventative Maintenance tasks
  • Ensuring maintenance activity is correctly documented, applying relevant Maintenance Procedures and Schedules where applicable.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need to be able to demonstrate a good understanding of trade based Armament maintenance practices, ideally an Ex armed forces aircraft armament technician or civilian equivalent, be fully trained to recognised standards in relevant trade, have working knowledge of RAF maintenance procedures and documentation, have good written and oral communication skills, including use of Microsoft Office packages (Word/Excel) and also have a current and valid driving licence - also required to hold military driving licence (FMT600).

What else do I need to know?

  • All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks. Verification of any qualifications/passport/licences must be shown at interview stage.
