Supportability Manager
Luton, Basildon, Edinburgh, Bristol or Southampton
Supportability Manager: A major Defence company is looking to recruit a Supportability Manager at their site in one of their UK locations.
Supportability Manager Responsibilities:
• Ensuring that the current capability meets the programme needs and delivering the future capability required by the business
• Working with the business managers to continuously improve programme performance and identify future opportunities.
• Own and deliver the Supportability Engineering strategy
• Mentoring and developing the SEI team, ensuring they have challenging work and opportunities to be the best they can be
• Negotiating with the wider SEI discipline within the company to ensure that:
- Programmes are adequately / correctly resourced
- Direction / development of the company SEI capability will meet the business needs
• Negotiating with supplier and partners to enhance our capability
• Negotiating with customers to ensure that we understand their needs and address them
• Supporting bid submissions - both technical input and review
• Working with the leadership team to shape the support strategy
• Tailoring the company process to meet the company needs
• Ensuring that the correct tools are available to enable us to meet our commitments efficiently
• Providing technical guidance as a discipline expert
• Reporting SEI performance
• Rectification of performance issues
Supportability Manager Requirements:
• An established expert in the supportability discipline, or on a path to becoming one.
• Ability to apply supportability knowledge to create real world practical solutions that help our customers.
• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (or equivalent), with experience of working on projects with a significant support element.
• Has an understanding that the boundaries are always moving and with a desire to keep learning and contribute to pushing the boundaries.
• A constructive innovator.
• Proven leadership skills with experience of developing a discipline and a team.
• An ability to communicate clearly, to negotiate and listen.
There will be some travel involved with this role!!!!
The successful candidate will be required to achieve full SC clearance for this role!!!
