Retail & Leisure Assistant
Clyde, Faslane

About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit two Retail & Leisure Assistants to work flexibly across retail & leisure outlets e.g. shop/café/post office or ten pin bowling.

The position will involve customer service, promoting products, all stock including rotation, highlighting any shortages, and collection and delivery from appropriate stores or supplier deliveries.

You will also be responsible for keeping areas tidy and within hygiene standards, handling of cash and tobacco products/alcohol, and also the preparation of hot and cold food and beverages.

You will be operating Electronic Point of Sales (EPOS terminals) and/or cash registers, dealing with the collection and sign out of float and reconciliation of cash/credit transactions whilst taking on the responsibility of reporting any anomalies to the Duty Retail Coordinator.

What do I need to do the role?

You will have previous customer service experience ideally within a retail / leisure / coffee shop / post office or hospitality environment and previous working experience within stock management, cash handling, and operating electronic point of sales.

You will be able to problem solve and be a pro-active team player with a good knowledge of H&S and food hygiene.

What else do I need to know?

This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.

There are two full-time posts available but one position could accommodate two part time employees for the right candidates.

Operational hours are between 06:00 to 21.30 Monday to Thursday, Friday to 18:30 and Saturday/Sunday to 20.30. Rotas are set in advance, it is a small team which usually has flexibility to be able to swap shifts if requiring a specific day off, and you won't be required to work every weekend.

We are happy to talk about flexible working. Please ask about alternative patterns of work at interview.
