About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Hospitality Accounts Administrator to manage accounts for a large naval customer base.

You will manage Mess / PAYD funds, monitoring bank balance and provide administration services to support up to 25 - 35 people.

You will be managing accounts including some overdue via a credit control system, and banking money from various sources (mess, bar sales, retail sales). You will manage the invoices, social club events, memberships and compiling and distributing Mess fees and Bills for Mess Members.

Other responsibilities include speaking with external creditors, and also preparing & submitting monthly accounts, quarterly VAT returns and annual end of year PAYE returns.

Also preparing financial statements for Mess Committee Meetings, being involved with audit purposes and the ordering of stock as well as general ad-hoc support.

There is real customer interface in this role, whilst accounts and administrative focused you will liaise daily with customers. You need to have a real interest in numbers and the systems you use and enjoy a varied role. There is potential to look at current processes and how they can improve, making your own recommendations and having a personal input.

What do I need to do the role?

You will hold a Bookkeeping qualification and have functional knowledge of PAYE and VAT returns with experience of working in an Accounting environment.

You will be proficient in Microsoft Packages as well as Accountancy Packages and have knowledge of management of Service Funds and relevant policies e.g. JSP.
You will also be able to communicate at all levels, be self-managed and organised with a high attention to detail.

What else do I need to know?

This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.
