About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to a Technical Instructor (Part 145)
The primary purpose of the role is the delivery of technical based training events to support technical, compliance and cultural development for all staff who require training and achieve Operational Excellence in Technical operations in support of the Babcock Aviation Offshore fleet.
Your main tasks will include the delivery of compliant, high quality and relevant Part 145 Continuation and Human Factors Training courses to all staff who are required to undertake training. The delivery of compliant, high quality and relevant training in other subjects applicable to technical staff to support continuing professional development (CPD) in aircraft maintenance, continued airworthiness, procurement, aircraft handling etc. Carrying out assessment and validation in accordance with the Technical Operations Competency Management System. Continually improving the contribution to the business. Supporting in building collaborative relationships with Technical, Operational, Commercial and Finance departments.
What do I need to do the role?
You'll need to hold an aircraft maintenance engineer's license or an aeronautical/aerospace/electrical or mechanical degree (or other considered pertinent to the Authority or have relevant experience in civil aviation environment (aeronautical maintenance or aeronautical instruction) or relevant experience gained outside a civil aircraft maintenance (Manufacturers, Police Forces, Military Force) environment may be acceptable or Grandfathering - Instructors, examiners and assessors accepted previously in a Part 145 organization and / or exercising their privileges.
Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
  • ECDL or equivalent proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
  • Experience within an aviation maintenance organisation (Desirable)
  • Successfully completed an instructional techniques course delivered by a legal authority or completion of a "Train the Trainer Course". (Desirable)
  • Previous instructional experience (ideally within last 5 years). (Desirable)
  • Appreciation of Engineering Technician career path and Career Course content. (Desirable)
