Systems Engineer / Senior Systems Engineer: A major Defence company is looking to secure the services of a number of Systems Engineers at their site in Lincoln to be focussed on the integration of electronic Warfare solution across the internally developed and outsourced design activities, as part of a wider Systems Engineering team
Systems Engineer / Senior Systems Engineer Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work within the Systems Engineering team to support the development of the technical solution on behalf of the Contracting Authority.
This will involve the following:
• Establish and maintain good lines of communication across the Engineering IPT.
• Ensure that the design rationale is documented
• Produce solution that meets the end user requirement.
• Effective configuration and change management to ensure design reuse is maximized.
• Reporting of potential technical risks
• Contribute to the implementation of the company's Lifecycle Management, including Design Reviews and Processes
• Undertake System Qualification Testing in accordance with issued test procedures.
• Meeting targets for Development of Design Maturity
Systems Engineer / Senior Systems Engineer Requirements
Minimum - Undergraduate Degree in Engineering or related scientific discipline, alongside proven experience of:
• Knowledge of electronic systems, mission data and software development, ideally within the EW domain
• Knowledge of the EW Operational Support lifecycle
• Undertaking product design, development and delivery activities
• Creating, updating & managing requirements to enable correct flow-down & traceability
• Creating, updating & managing test procedures to prove requirements compliance
• Following engineering lifecycle processes & supporting the reporting of key measures
• Ability to effectively manage own time, potentially across multiple activities
• Contributing to the capture, review & management of risk, particularly for own work packages
• Supporting the provision of cost/schedule estimates & performing peer review for others
• Manage & delivery delegated activities to agreed cost, schedule, & quality requirements, iaw engineering processes & engineering plans
• Demonstrable understanding of & contribution to the systems engineering lifecycle and reviews
• Actively support knowledge sharing and exploitation of best practice
• Mentoring of junior personnel (e.g. graduates and industrial placement students)
The successful candidate will be required to achieve full SC clearance for this role!!!!
