Senior Field Engineer - RF- Installation, Commissioning and trials

About the role

Here at Babcock we're looking to recruit Senior RF Field Engineer to join the team working to provide engineering expertise in the areas of installation, commissioning and trials.

You will have an in-depth background in RF Field Engineering and will be familiar with BS767 with skills in Installation, commissioning, problem solving and setting to work of complex RF communications/network systems and Preparation for Acceptance and Trials presentation of these systems.
As well as your experience you will have a working background in Software Testing Skills including integration with hardware and have at least three Software Messaging Protocols (Serial or IP). You will have knowledge Middleware Messaging Protocols and have the ability to pick-up and use new development tools with minimum supervision, and y ou will also be familiar with RS232.

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need to be able to produce test specifications and procedures to support trials and acceptance activities. You will analyse and make recommendations on system defects and attend technical project meetings.

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Responsible for undertaking annual and routine engineering maintenance tasks.
  • Accountable for the conduct of Health and Safety Risk assessments for allocated tasks.
  • Attending trial and operational facilities worldwide in support of the trials programme and defect diagnosis and rectification and supporting Commercial contract activities in the UK and abroad.
  • Conduct test, evaluation and acceptance activities including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Installation Inspection (II) and System Acceptance Tests
  • Networking Skills including configuration of various network devices:
    • CISCO Routers/Switches
  • To act as test director for trials as required.

Lastly, you will preferably be Degree qualified in an Electrical/Electronic engineering discipline, HNC Engineering is acceptable with suitable experience.
