- This role encompasses all engineering disciplines with exposure to various electromechanical systems, electrical systems, electronic systems, products, and technologies. Working within the Sustainment Engineering team, the Test Electronics Systems Engineer provides through-life engineering support for those test systems used in the manufacture of electronic aviation products and components, including PCBs and Modules.
- The Test Electronics Systems Engineer will be responsible for investigating, analysing, and resolving failures on Test Systems supporting electronic PCB and modular products. Working in engineering and production environments, the engineer will be capable of diagnosing electromechanical, electrical, and electronic failures, also identifying design changes for improved reliability and performance. The role requires a close working relationship with the wider engineering team, handling of multiple tasks and the ability to respond to changing priorities whilst still delivering against task completion commitments.Key Activities
• Respond to electronic test equipment failures
• Conduct technical investigations on equipment failures
• Support the analytical data investigations into performance and failure issues
• Prepare failure reports to inform the business stakeholders
• Support root cause analysis (FRACAS) with the wider Engineering team
• Procure and manage replacement and spare parts
• Create and share maintenance plans with the business stakeholders
• Work with outsource suppliers to support preventative maintenance (service support) activities
• Support Design for Test (DFT) coverage investigations on PCBs
• Work with outsource In Circuit Test (ICT) suppliers on the introduction of new test equipment
• Work with outsource Special Type Test Equipment (STTE) suppliers on the introduction of new test equipment
• Support process and material cost reduction initiatives
• Maintain compliance in accordance to mandatory regulations, and company processes
• Identify design improvements and work closely with the wider engineering team to implement them
• Support Test Equipment and product design and change reviews
• Support the verification of new equipment to ensure it is fit for service
