We are seeking highly motivated and knowledgeable staff, although when you are working across groundbreaking projects it is rare that you will have nothing new to learn.

This is a unique customer facing role, providing you with the opportunity to work within a multi-disciplined team, to pull through specialist new capability into operational use. We are looking for exceptional individuals who have the appropriate technical knowledge, who are able to communicate effectively with internal and external partners at all levels.

You would act as a trusted advisor to our clients, spending a significant amount of your time at client sites predominantly in Gloucester. Although initially you will work across Roke's state of the art sites whilst becoming familiar with the companies ways of working.

What would your role look like?

You would be working with our Test Manager, Senior Test Analyst & Project Managers (PM’s) as required, to provide meaningful updates on work progress issues and dependencies.

You will be required to:

  • Estimate work effort and duration.
  • Produce test scripts and execute test phases.
  • Write test cases that are traceable back to requirements.
  • Expertly report defects – clearly documented, detailing links back to requirement and impact on solution.
  • Work cohesively with other suppliers and delivery team members to deliver to required timescales and to agreed quality.
  • Provide positive input into Test Plans and Reports.
  • Promote meaningful knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and process improvement.

What do we expect from you?

  • Application Test Experience.
  • Atlassian Suite – Confluence, Jira.
  • A mature knowledge of waterfall and agile deliveries.
  • Proven testing experience across the whole delivery lifecycle.
  • You are happy to work on customer sites at least 4 days per week.
  • A deep understanding of command line knowledge in Windows and Linux environment.

What additional skills would we find useful?

Key production and information assurance (IA) domain knowledge would be a welcome addition to the experience described above. Other areas of interest include:

  • Test automation – Frameworks, Cucumber/Java/OATS
  • Docker or other containerisation platforms
  • Unix
  • Jenkins or other continuous integration tools
  • BitBucket
  • Bash scripting
  • SQL
  • A solid grasp of continuous integration
