Our client is a leading aerospace, avionics, and defence engineering company in the UK, designing and manufacturing projects for such clients as the UK MOD for military and civil purposes for the last 80 years.
We are looking for an Aerospace Project Engineer to lead development projects at the client's site in Dorset. The ideal candidate will be confident in working across multi-discipline teams including suppliers, with great decision making and communication skills. The ability to organise and deliver projects to cost & quality parameters is also essential to this role.
As Aerospace Project Engineer your main responsibilities will include:
Establishing clear requirements baselines prior to commencement of design
Define and lead analyses in support of product design
Lead product design to achieve optimal balance between design requirements such as performance, mass, centre of gravity, safety, maintainability and cost
Manage requirements verification throughout project execution
Estimate resource requirements, plan projects and report progress
Ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with internal processes.
Qualifications and Requirements
HNC or Degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or equivalent relevant experience
A strong understanding of mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering in the context of aerospace
Understanding of the operation and maintenance of military aircraft, particularly fast jets & trainer aircraft
Experience of liaison with customers and suppliers
Good written and oral communications skills
Experience of the management of aerospace development projects
Understanding of the financial management of development projects
An analytical approach to problem solving
