Job Details
Our client, the Aurora Engineering Partnership, are seeking x2 Electronic Engineer’s to join them at MoD Abbey Wood. While the main place of work will be Abbeywood, staff will be expected to attend off-site meetings at locations including; Telford, Washington (Tyne & Weir), Bradley Stoke, Andover, Bovington, Unterleuss, Kiel & Bremen.

Requirements are scheduled to run until 31st March 2020. This is a competitive tender and there is therefore no pre-defined price attached to this role. We suggest that a rate of £400 - £520/day will be competitive, however please approach us if you have different requirements.
IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. This engagement has been assessed by the public body as Inside IR35 legislation. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement.

As this is a quick start contract role, this role requires Active SC (Security Cleared) clearance. Applicants require active SC clearance to be considered.
Introduction
An Electronic Engineer is required to support the CR2 LEP Delivery Team (DT) in the Electrical & Electronic Architecture (E2A) domain. The objectives of the Challenger 2 Life Extension Project (CR2 LEP) Assessment Phase 2 (AP2) are to:
- Address obsolescence within the scope of the CR2 LEP System Boundary to extend the Out of Service Date (OSD) from 2025 to 2040,
- Maintain current CR2 capability, including the use of Interfacing Programmes & Systems (IP&S),
- Enhance Lethality and Survivability in key areas,
- Facilitate future growth.
The team are seeking x2 roles for this project, the requirements for which are detailed below.
Specific Requirements for Electronic Engineer Support (E2A)
As a minimum the E2A Electronic Engineer shall:
- Hold Security Check (SC) clearance - Essential
- Have knowledge of Armoured Fighting Vehicle Electrical Systems and EMC - Desirable.
- Successful candidate will support the Electrical and Electronic Architecture (E2A)
- You will lead in managing the E2A safety, E2A performance, EMC, GVA and Open Architecture aspects of CR2 LEP.
Specific Requirements for Electronic Engineer Support (Survivability and IP&S)
As a minimum the Survivability and IP&S Electronic Engineer shall:
- Hold Security Check (SC) clearance – Essential
- Have knowledge of Electronic Survivability Systems for Armoured Fighting Vehicles; Active Protection Systems (APS), Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) and Laser Warning Systems (LWS) – Desirable
- Have knowledge of Electronic Training Systems for Armoured Fighting Vehicles; Live Fire Monitoring Equipment (LFME), Area Weapons Effects Simulator (AWES) & Direct Fire Weapons Effects Simulator (DFWES) – Desirable
- Resource will manage the Interfacing Programmes and Systems (IP&S) aspects of the Challenger 2 Life Extension Project (CR2 LEP) and support the Survivability Lead by managing the requirements for electronic survivability systems (APS, ECM, LWS, etc)
Candidate Eligibility
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 – General visas are cannot be accepted.
