The role.

This Project Manager role is to manage a broad array of building/construction/facility projects across the estate. Based from St Clears, the role will also involve travel on occasion other sites as required.

Projects will vary in budget and complexity, from minor works up to £100k can typically be expected. These can include building maintenance and refurbishment works; civil engineering works to roads, bridges and culverts; security and stock proof fencing; environmental management works to land areas; electrical install/maintenance works. The incumbent will manage all aspects of the projects from initial planning through to execution including the management of external contractors & overseeing general technical repairs. They will also be required to take on the role of the asbestos responsible person and carry out or arrange condition surveys of the built estate.

Key Accountabilities.

You will define and maintain under review the overall aims and objectives of the Project, together with their relative priorities, and the overall scope of the Project.

You will be in charge of organising the Project, the project team and its delivery;

You will determine the procurement strategy along with the Procurement Team;

You will define and manage an appropriate organisation structure to deliver the strategy;

You will be in charge of the planning the project, and maintaining the plan during the currency of the Project.

You will be defining and agreeing an appropriate budget, delivering the Project within this budget and managing and reporting progress against an agreed cost plan;

You will be putting in place processes and procedures for resource procurement and cost management within the Project.

You need experience running building/civil engineering projects.

You need experience managing/overseeing external contractors.

You need good Financial/budget management.
