HR Application Support
LOCATION: Mons, Belgium
CLIENT: NATO
DURATION: End of this year with possible extensions
CONTRACT: Consultant
SALARY: Negotiable daily rate
CLEARANCE: NATO Secret
STARTING DATE: 17 June 2019
TASKS:
· Supporting in-service operations of the systems
· Support and operation of the assigned system(s) including:
o Systems operationally used by ACO and NCIA (for example APMS, AMIS, NST EP)
o Local systems currently used by SHAPE Base Support Group (ISIPS, SHAPE Housing, MTM)
o Maintenance of the operational & support environments
o Monitoring of performance of the assigned service applications
o Support CIS Support Units (CSU) and other support staff for daily operations of the systems
o Support technical reviews, walkthroughs and audits
· Contribution to service application enhancement & transition for the assigned service applications
· Provision of professional and technical contributions in the conception, development and co-ordination related to all aspects of software development within the SL projects or services
· Provision of input to the preparation of functional and technical specifications for software and hardware with special focus on the SSBA SL domain
· Support to change management, configuration management, release and testing
· Provision of subject matter expertise and advice as required
· Performing other duties as may be required
REQUIREMENTS:
· At least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of computer science or electronic engineering
· Experience in offering support to applications
· Experience in offering support for Allocate Software Defence Suite
· Experience and good knowledge of the following COTS technology:
o GENPACT Sequence Kinetics or Sequence Cora
· CITI Manage ID
· Experience with programming languages and platforms like .NET, C#, JAVA, JavaScript
· Experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration, optimization and querying
· Experience in human resource (HR) IT applications related to personnel, posts, organisations, identity management and badges
· Experience (at least two years) in various areas of Software Engineering including some of the following:
o Requirements elicitation and management (including non-functional requirements for Operations & Maintenance)
o SW change management and testing
o Application release and deployment management
o Configuration management practices and tools
o Application Lifecycle Management concept and tools
· Knowledge and experience in state-of-the-art technologies, relevant to software engineering
· Technologies and standards (at least 4 of them): HTML5, REST Services, Web Services, XML, SQL, Visual Basic for Applications
· Application server technologies and Relational data base management systems
· Ability to work in cross functional teams like Application management/development team
· Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with good briefing skills.
DESIRABLE:
· Knowledge of NATO HR processes
· Knowledge of post related applications like ISIPS, APMS, AMIS, NSTEP
· Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint applications and their administration
· Cloud computing, SaaS, knowledge of Microsoft Azure
· Experience with data modelling of complex systems
· Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
· Design and implementation of Human Machine Interfaces
· Design patterns
