About the role
Here at Babcock we are looking to recruit a Defence Trainer (Driving and Maintenance) to deliver training/instruction to Army students on Armoured Vehicles (AV) at the Armour Centre. Reporting to the relevant Group Manager and based in the Armoured Fighting Vehicles Technical Training School (AFV TTS).

About the role
Here at Babcock we are looking to recruit a Defence Trainer (Driving and Maintenance) to deliver training/instruction to Army students on Armoured Vehicles (AV) at the Armour Centre. Reporting to the relevant Group Manager and based in the Armoured Fighting Vehicles Technical Training School (AFV TTS).
- To train/instruct in the field of D&M on AV in accordance with the relevant programme as specified by the customer.
- To deliver high quality teaching, effective use of resources and high standards of learning and achievement for all students
- Current AVs taught are CR2, CVR(T), JKL and BD). Deliver Licence Acquisition courses for ITT on BD as required.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need to have the following qualifications and experience:
- D&M Instructor qualification - Essential - (Customer specified contractual requirement).
- A recognised civilian teaching qualification such as the L3 Award in Education & Training or higher - Level 3 is Essential
- Suitable AFV experience - Essential
- SchooI's Instructor qualification - Highly Desirable
- IT literate with a working knowledge of Windows & MS Office applications - Essential
- Full Driving Licence including Category H (Tracked) - Essential. Cat C/C+E - Desirable
- Coaching & Mentoring experience/qualifications - Desirable
- Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) - Desirable
- ARITC Staff Leadership School (ASLS) Defence Train the Trainer (DTTT) trained - Desirable
Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
- Train/instruct students in D&M on current and future AVs and associated training media and equipment
- Maintain Student Admin Booklets (SAB) and data
- Report all faults of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Government Fixtures and Fittings (GFF) used during training
- Liaise with the Authority and Group Management on course content
- Any reasonable additional ad hoc duties, within the spirit of the role of a Defence Trainer (D&M), as may be required.
What else do I need to know?
- The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
- This role could be considered for flexible working.
