NOC Engineer - Permanent - Buckinghamshire - Up to 40k

Why this role matters:

  • The NMC 24x7 Rota Technicians provide in-life technical support, responsible for identifying, diagnosing and resolving technical problems for the team 24x7x365.
  • Covering multiple Technologies in a multi-vendor environment, liaising with the operational field & 2nd Line Support Teams, Technical Design Authorities, vendors & suppliers including TAC teams. Key activities of the role include liaising with Service Managers on a regular basis, supporting high profile incidents and configuration activity to agreed SLA's & KPI's.
  • The role holder will be trained appropriately and will assist in the deployment of new solutions as well as event and incident management. This will include requirements analysis, design, deployment, testing, integration & in-life support. The role holder maybe expected to travel throughout the UK and internationally as required

What you'll be doing:

  • To provide Technical Support in specialist areas ensuring KPI's and SLA's are achieved.
  • To provide support to the Service Management Teams (Capacity, Availability, Release, Information Security).
  • Requirement to input into root cause analysis as required.
  • Review and input into the technical design documents relating to the individuals & team's area of responsibility.
  • Service Management tickets to be created, updated and closed as appropriate.
  • Requirement to be available for shift-working 24/7 and respond to other emergencies arising outside normal working hours.
  • To resolve and take ownership of incidents attending Technical and Service management bridge calls as required.
  • To participate in the drafting of quality technical and incident reports as well as recommendations to the Management Team.
  • Key Role in passing on knowledge and skills across the Operational Support teams.
  • Will involve liaising with 3rd Party vendors and suppliers as a technical SPOC for all aspects of the incident.
  • To ensure operational procedures are in place, maintained and followed as appropriate.
  • Provide input to internal weekly/monthly reports.
  • Required to travel and to work from any sites as and when required to support operations.
  • In the first 12 months you'll:
  • Undergo additional training to match operational requirements and equipment
  • Provide input into project meetings to support Operational & Service teams
  • Will involve liaising with 3rd Party vendors and suppliers as a technical SPOC for all aspects of incidents.
  • To ensure operational procedures are in place, maintained and followed as appropriate.
  • Provide input to internal weekly/monthly reports.
  • To participate in the drafting of quality technical and incident reports as well as recommendations to the Management Team.

We'll also need to see these on your CV:

  • Very Good knowledge & understanding of Transmission platforms
  • Demonstrates strong competence and expertise in a variety of TCP/IP, IPT, Routing and Security principles.
  • Knowledge of Power, UPS, A/C & Fire Detection systems.
  • Broad technical understanding of IT Systems, Data, Voice & Cyber systems and services
  • Works with limited guidance in own area of expertise.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new skills and technologies.
  • Hold a Full driving licence
  • There may be a requirement to undertake Security Vetting.
