Programme Manager

Our client is a large public sector organisation based in Corsham. Due to additional workload, they have an immediate requirement for a DV cleared Programme Manager to offer support on 12 month basis, potentially longer.

The main focus of this work will be developing strategies for the New Style of IT (NSoIT) and Interoperability Services and Gateways (ISG) programmes to enable them to transition to a service delivery organisation. You will be required to offer strategic advice and direction up to senior stakeholders, and to develop the artefacts to support both programmes.

Essential skills and experience

• Experience of developing coherent Information Notes, Review Notes, Initial and Main Gate Business Cases including circulation and obtaining approval
• Senior stakeholder experience, both Civilian and Military stakeholders
• Experience of strategic planning and managing technically complex large-scale IT projects and programmes
• Full understanding of gateway technology
• Large-scale programme transformation from project delivery to service delivery
• Providing advice and guidance to aid decision-making to senior management level Programme Boards and Programme Executives
• Understanding the workings of ISS and MOD approvals process
• Coaching to the project and programme teams to enable them to work more effectively hence improving overall efficiency
• Developing service-oriented policies
• Strategic planning of programme budgets to ensure best value is delivered and accurate forecasts can be made
• Must have detailed understanding of standard project management principles and techniques (e.g. APM, MSP, Prince2, PMI)

Please note, there will be a requirement to travel to multiple locations in the UK.
